C'EST LE TON QUI FAIT LA MUSIQUE
FACADE ARTWORK / MUZIEKWERF ROTTERDAM 2024 ( NL)
The artwork “C'est Le Ton Qui Fait La Musique” was specially designed for the Muziekwerf, the meticulously renovated former Mennonite Church. The facade artwork consists of a monumental double eighth note in mirror glass, placed over the 36 windows of the former Mennonite Church. The musical note, a universal symbol for music, is recognizable to all. From the street, the artwork is a beautiful focal point during the day, reflecting the ever-changing surroundings, but after sunset it really comes alive. With subtle purple lighting illuminating the windows from inside, the note seems to breathe.
About the Music Yard (Muziekwerf): The Music Yard is a new musical hub for young Rotterdammers, where they can make music together. It offers a wide range of musical activities, from lessons and jam sessions to performances and workshops
